These terms set out the basis on which orders are accepted. Where an individual contract or purchase order specifies different terms, the contract takes precedence.
Quotations
- Quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise, and are subject to material availability.
- Prices are quoted in the currency stated and exclude freight, insurance and import duties unless the quotation says otherwise.
- A quotation is not an order confirmation. The order is accepted when we confirm it in writing.
Specifications and tolerances
- Standard tools are supplied to the tolerances published in the catalog.
- Custom tools are manufactured to the drawing approved by the customer before production. Where a sample is approved, the sample defines the specification.
- Any change to an approved drawing after production has started may affect price and lead time.
Lead times
- Lead times are confirmed at order and run from the date the order is confirmed and, where applicable, the drawing is approved.
- Coating is a batched process. A tool that misses a coating cycle waits for the next one, and this is reflected in the quoted lead time.
- We will tell you promptly if a lead time is at risk, rather than after the date has passed.
Delivery and claims
- Risk transfers according to the Incoterm stated on the order.
- Quantity and visible damage claims should be raised within 7 days of receipt.
- Quality claims should be raised within 30 days of receipt, with the batch number and a description or photograph of the issue.
- Claims are assessed against the specification. Where a batch is found not to conform, our obligation is to replace or credit at our option.
Warranty
Tools are warranted against defects in material and workmanship. The warranty does not cover failure resulting from cutting data outside the published range, incorrect handling, unsuitable machine conditions, or use on a material other than the one specified at order.
Governing terms
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, orders are governed by the terms confirmed on the order acknowledgement. Nothing on this page overrides a signed contract.
