About this tool
In a deep bore the chip has a long way to travel and the heat has nowhere to go. Coolant delivered at the cutting zone deals with both, which is what keeps the bore round and the size stable to the bottom.
Where it works
Deep through holes in hydraulic blocks, manifolds and long bores where H7 fit and straightness both matter.
Cutting data — starting point
Starting values for a rigid setup with a good coolant supply. Treat them as a first trial, then adjust to the machine, the holder and the actual condition of the material.
| Work material | Cutting speed vc | Feed | Depth of cut |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carbon steel (P) | 20–40 m/min | 0.15–0.40 mm/rev | 0.1–0.3 mm stock |
| Cast iron (K) | 20–40 m/min | 0.20–0.50 mm/rev | 0.1–0.3 mm stock |
| Stainless (M) | 15–30 m/min | 0.10–0.25 mm/rev | 0.1–0.2 mm stock |
What you can specify
- Diameter, corner radius and flute count ground to your drawing
- Coating — AlCrN, AlTiN, TiAlN, DLC or uncoated, matched to the workpiece
- Shank — h6 ground, HA / HB / whistle-notch
- Laser-marked part number, or blank shanks for distributor stock
Not sure about the geometry? Send the drawing or a photo of the part. We recommend the profile, the coating and the starting cutting data — and quote from there.
